I've seen what creates and what destroys
I've lived like a saint and like a fiend

regrets, i've had so many but none should ever be dwelled on
a rule that's followed can quickly be ignored just as quickly gone
lies, and truths realized are the most bitter pills to swallow
some mislead, some bathe in greed and you'll find their souls are hollow

i found this out so long ago
a seed of doubt was planted so
i reaped reward and paid the price
i was left to my own device

the sins of the world are everyone's concern we can all watch it burn
light a fire for the sinners but make it bright let's illuminate the night
a flesh wound to show for the decade of gore a horror that only has more in store
the perfect plan for all that ran stampede of the rightous doing what they can
